my working day is unevenly divided into four modes of functioning determined by two not necessarily independent dimensions; the relative conceptual difficulty of my task (dull or challenging) and it’s practical difficulty (if it works as it ought or doesn’t do as it’s told)
(i) if something is tedious and failing to work I fall asleep
(ii) if something is tedious but working well I get distracted
(iii)if something is tricky and failing for unfathomable, irrelevant reasons I get angry
(iv) if work is tricky and working I work well am moderately productive
today was (fairly typically) a mixture of (i) & (iii) but with a tiny bit of (ii) just now.. which is why i am here just now!
