no-one is interested in my tale of transport woe and I know it isn’t interesting and only so woeful. but it will help me calm my breathing.
0730 – Alarm goes off at Ailsa’s. It is warm and pleasant in this bed.
0739 – Walk to the bus stop on Brixton Hill, where happily a 45 is waiting.
0754 – Bus arrives at Loughborough Junction
0759 – I get home just around the time I’d be getting up.
0813 – After a speedy shower, I leave the house 10 mins earlier than ordinarily.
0825 – Train arrives but seeing absolutely no space, I will wait for the 0831
0826 – I notice that the 0831 is running 15 mins late. I decide it will be quicker to get a bus back to Brixton and tube it.
0835 – 345 finally arrives.
0843 – I’m back in Brixton! where I transfer from bus to tube at Brixton.
0849 – pass through elephant & castle, if i’d waited for my train, I’d have been no worse off & would have had another 15 mins standing in the sun on the platform
0854 – delays on jubilee line east-bound.
0915 – arrive at Canary Wharf.
0922 – arrive in the office -wanting to recount my to-ings and fro-ings but realise that no-one will care.
0924 – 0939 drift deleriously in and out of consciousness, far more tired that I would normally be.
1226 – write up my tedious tale as an act of catharis
Yes my poor fool, welcome to the future…and you thought in your naivete that you would get a spaceship to get to work in 2004!!…..
