Sometime around my retirement from the world of work, i stopped using an RSS reader to keep easy tabs on all the best in the blogistan. It was entirely my fault.. i couldn’t find a decent (and free) aggregator for OSX. I still haven’t so suggestions welcome whilst I trial netnewswire. But I won’t let this lapse happen again, because already in the 8 hours i’ve been resubscribed, i have learnt many new things
From Pharyngula I have already learnt about what was arguably the most important paper in the development of developmental genetics, modern molecular biology and many other related fields – N¸sslein-Volhard and Wieschaus’s Nobel prize winning work on Drosophila embryonic gene expression.
From Tom Stafford’s Mind Hacks I discovered that there might be a reason why good dancing is sexually attractive because it somehow correlates with body symmetry. Which doesn’t help arythmical muppet impersonators like me but it won’t stop me either.
Meanwhile i still have very little clue what Jon is on about. But it’s all good.
