nanowrimo 2006

For the uninitiated, it is a internet thing where one aims to write a 50,000 word novel from beginning to end all in a month. The aim is not craft a masterpiece but on the contrary to trade in all your pretensions and self-censorship in exchange for a fast and furious adventure into the unexpected. I can’t recommend it enough. You can never predict where you’ll end up but it’s great fun getting there.

Third time around for me. I sort of succeeded in 2004. I wrote 50k but there quite a few holes in my story (which still haven’t been patched) Last year, I tried to work in strictly linear fashion and perhaps as a consequences I failed miserably, falling short by 30,000 words (still working on that one too) This time I’m going to make it or I’ll eat my words!

About caspar

Caspar is just one monkey among billions. Battering his keyboard without expectations even of peanuts, let alone of aping the Immortal Bard. By day he is an infantologist at Birkbeck Babylab, by night he runs BabyLaughter.net
