National Cinema Day

With all films half price, and a beautiful clear blue sky, who can resist a full day in dirty seats in a darkened room, where the sound is too loud and the print a bit blurred?

Being an addictive personality, (it is a great excuse for so many things) I went to have my intelligence insulted by egomaniacs with money to burn, in trogloditic surrounds:

The Programme:

  • 6am - 8am: Copland
Slyvester Stallone and Robert de Niro in a gritty drama set in New York. Unafraid t
o tackle real issues, this film does not shy away from the nervous, irregular rhythms, angular melodies, and highly dissonant harmonies that made Copland famous. This ambitious biopic spans sweepingly the remarkable life of America's greatest modern composer. Stallone takes on his most challenging role for years in the title role.

Or maybe even it was Mr. Blonde in the Warehouse with the Cut-throat Razor? The director's original cut, of the film that made him famous. In collaboration with Waddingtons, Quentin Tarantino revisits his celebration of murder and plagiarism to bring you the most stylish films of the nineties and one of the most enjoyable board games ever to encourage homicide..
