The Encephalogram of God.
As Stephen W. Hawking never tires of repeating, when we peer ever deeper into the earhole of God we come ever closer to seeing the mind of God.

Experimental and theoretical theologians agree 'a priori' that progress in our understanding of the Mind of God is possible. (If not, what the hell are they doing maskerading as theologians?) The two camps diverge in their methods of investigation.

The Psychotherapy of God.

The theorists observe that since two plus two equals four then it follows that God probably exists, is omnipotent, all merciful and has created man in his image etc. They insist that there are a few intervening steps to be worked out, but that basically (what with God being good and everything) the full solution is just around the corner.

The Positron Emission Tomograph of God.

The experimentalists take a different approach; they are intent upon getting up the nose of God, as far up His nose as their lavish funding and complicated apparatuses can carry them. Certain that probing ever deeper into Divinity, they will return with an incontravertible mimeograph of the His essence. All their various efforts are directed ultimately towards the goal of holding up a photographic plate bearing the unmistakable imprint of the Deity.
Their primitive daguerreotypes currently show some indistinct blurring and they seek to persuade those who hold the purse strings that with better equipment and closer vantage points the image will resolve not into a metaphorical thumbprint, but a passable likeness of the Face of God.
Alas, clarity does not come cheap, and garners no political laurels, so may not come at all. So

The greatest mystery remains...

Despite the many advances claimed in recent years, there is still absolutely no evidence that God has a mind.
