Whale’n’Bass

whalesong

call me fishmeal. some months ago, never mind how long precisely, having little or no faith in the innovators of drum’n’bass, my good friend Yossarian & I decided to venture forth into the choppy seas of music production. We had observed that modern music was woefully lacking in Whales and sought to put it right.

This has long been a preoccupation of mine, but it took the creative collaboration of salty world traveller Yossarian to see the possibilities of whale vocals on a dnb bassline. From there in an all night session fuelled by nothing stronger than cider, the first three tracks pretty much wrote themselves.

Bouyed by this early success we may even diversify into Drum’n’Whale, although the biggest problem is finding a recording studio with a big enough fishtank.
