don’t you feel the poetry and promise of this animated gif? it was there where i saw it only momentarily but it caught my eye; maybe because i’d just come off the phone to a lovely lilting lady from wales slaving away in a swansea call-centre persuading me that I need a new nokia and tighter tarrriff. I became convinced, did the deal and went off to the nokia website, with rolling ‘R’s and sing-song vowels echoing round my head to look see what it was that their lovely 7600 could do for me. Isn’t it?

And though it was an ugly phone there was something super lovely about that thought and it’s phrasing..

how nice that nokia are sending me some seconds downstream, a small courtesy allowing me to spend their time in my own way, a moment that I may make my own, and available online, peace and tranquility with easy one click accesibility. How magical is this advanced technology? Providing me electronically with a moment, the smallest tangible unit of perceived time. For a glimpse may last less than a moment but it is precisely too emphemeral not to decay, whereas a moment is self-contained and can remain in memory effectively forever. To receive such a thing free and on demand is a wonder to me.

Mind you, I’m not sure if it worked, I waited and waited and nothing arrived.

Or, as Dylan Thomas might say.. “Time passes..”
