The first I went to university in cambridge and it was a whole heap of uselessness.. I was mediocre at my subject & compounded this by attending no lectures, I was predominantly anti-social & socially awkward, I didn’t make any lasting friends, I took no drugs, drank in fits and starts and only had sex once. all i got out of it was 3k debt and the degree to put on my CV, admittedly I did also have 3 years of leisure to educate myself but that could have been achieved anywhere with a sofa & a lending library. 🙁
six years later I started a part-time degree at Birkbeck and 3 years in.. it has been the best thing I have ever done. I love my subject, I’ve met some great people who are already friends for life, I’ve combined a full working week with evenings of lecture, nights of drinking & whole weekends of partying & romance. the course has taught me unexpected things & I’ve learnt others through the direction and drive it has given my life.. I will leave with money in the bank & another degree but what’s more I will immediately turn around and go back into university full-time & forever. 😀
