Dennett and Swinburne talk past each other

Prospect Magazine has an exchange between Dennett & Richard Swinburne..

It’s very lucid but mostly one comes away with the a sense that they can’t even get their discussion started so vastly different are their perspectives…

and i find it somewhat flabbergasting that Swinburne, supposedly one of the most eminent Christian theologians around can provide such a simplistic and unsatisfying justification for his faith.. barely above the level of Charlie White. To say that God explains everything is to my mind no sort of satisfying explanation of anything. It’s feels almost solipsist in it’s circularity and self-justification. He seems to completely misunderstand what science is. (Unless i have completely misunderstood him.. which isn’t impossible!)
