baby brain lasers

We do a bit of Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) in our basement but the machine doesn’t look anywhere near as cool as this..

baby brain laser

Basically it works by firing laser beams through the baby’s head and seeing what comes out the other side.. The laser is the same colour as oxygenated blood so it doesn’t get through the bits of the brain that you are using.. very clever stuff and not usually done with as scary a device as this. And we try not to call them laser beams when talking to parents.
